My grandpa used to bass fish back in the day, about 20 years ago. He said he used to tear em up with fire tails, and he got me some Berkly Power Worm Fire Tail. I was wondering if anyone still used these Fire Tails and if they still catch fish?

All help is apperciated. thumb

Sure they do. I tend to favor chartreuse or orange firetails over the pink/red ones. Good rule of thumb is to fish them in the warmer months as tail action and bright colors are more "natural" in warm water. Also since they are less prevalent for manufacturers you could get on a hot bite with them. Good Luck!

We used purple/fire tails. And if the bass weren't biting-you could always depend on a goggle-eye to bite the tails of them-lol. But we caught a lot of bass on them in the 70's and 80's.

We have a bunch in the boat... when all else fails, the Boss drags one out and puts it on a finesse Carolina rig...

Couple of lakes I still use them as a go to bait.

I inherited 1000's of Manns Jelly worms with assorted fire tails and other colors from the 70's era.

We use to use Purple/FireTail and Grape/FireTail all the time. I haven't use them in 20 years. Need to.

I try not to fish them shallow because the Bream will wear you out.
