can anyone tell me how well triton boats stand up over time? also does anyone know what year they switched to all composite? this one i'm fixing to go look has a 150 envinrude on it as well....any info or advice on either the hull or motor would be greatly appreciated. it's a tr-18 i think.

thanks in advance.

I have a '99 TR21. It is 100% composite. The hull is in great shape even though I have certainly hit my fair share of stumps on Fork and Ray Bob. No complaints from me.

I would be more concerned with the motor than the boat. What year and model is the motor?

1997 was the first year they made fiberglass bass boats. All Triton fiberglass bass boats should have 100% composite hulls. I'm just like rb7764, my dad and I have had my 1997 Triton TR-17 since it was new and we've hit our fair share of stumps and it's held up well.

As for the Evinrude, is it an Intruder? My TR-17 has an Evinrude Intruder 115. Overall, I'd say we've had good luck with ours. I just replaced the VRO pump and impeller, but that was the first time we've spent a dollar on that motor since the day it was new. 13 years with zero maintenance means you're asking for something to go wrong, so it's hard to complain about a little engine work at this point. It performs well and pushes my 17-footer with very good speed and control.

I have a good friend that has the 2001 XP200 center console Bass boat and it's on the lake 45 weekends a year and not overly well taken care of and it has been bullet proof with one exception. The plastic dash panels are rather flimsy specially if it has an indash graph so check that out .

Otherwise I would jump on it!

My 2006 has over 2000, yes two thousand hours on it all on Fork in the stumps. Never been to the shop.
I'm not on Triton's team or anything, but dang this thing is a tank!

My 99 TR-21 has had some hull problems. I took it to Lake Fork Fiberglas and had a Gator Hull put on. The reason for my hull
problems is cypress stumps.
