These are the same jerks that get in the 15-20 item express line with a whole cart full of items. One even kept sending the kids to get additional items while they waited in line. In my area the store managers do not want to embarass or anger these shoppers by sending them to the appropriate line. They would rather make 10 or more shoppers angry waiting in the same line.
These boaters either do not know and perhaps do not want to know rules of common courtesy on the water. Some know and just think it does not apply to them.

Ditto to most the above comments. I have fished Texoma for the past 15 years and have had my share of people who were either very rude or very stupid. I've even had them troll close enough to my anchored boat to hang their lures in my anchor line. When this happens, I'll give that person two choices: either wait until I get through fishing and I'll give their lures back or they can break their line and I'll keep their lures when we get through fishing that spot.

This problem is on most lakes!!!! I have run into several. I have accidently got too close to boats before, running the trolling motor and just hard to control it. I will at least apologize and get my boat out of their personal space. I have had some that have apologized, at least they aren't trying to do it. That never upsets me. The ones who you know are doing it on purpose irritate me. I had to ask one guy if he needed marker buouys. He said no, why?? I told him he was parked on mine. He didn't seem to care. So I pulled my buouy, started the engine, revved the **** out of it, and left at full throttle.

You expect that kind of behavior on Lewisville or wherever there's a large non-fishing population, but a boater who fishes knows better & just don't care.
On CC Saturday I was fishing a point, within a long cast of the bank - at least half a dozen pleasure boaters cut between me & the bank going into & coming out of the cove. Smile & wave. A mile of water on my other side - like they're pressed for time or something! Toss a slab into their path, no effect whatsoever. Maybe you got to break a few windshields to get their attention.

Fishing below the dam on the Texas side of Texoma, bank fishermen started having a problem with boaters who would tie up to the cable to fish right in front of the generators. Bank fishermen would be walking down the wall with a nice striper on and some of the folks in the boats would not bring their lines in. Not only would they not bring their lines in to keep from tangling your line, a few times they even took the fish and the $5-6 lure you were using.
I believe that was the epitomy of poor sportsmanship.

Texoma isn't by itself. Several weeks ago my wife and I were in our small boat at Bridgeport trolling the south shoreline of the channel going into the main part of the lake at the north end. There were no boats there when we started and we were working down and back for a short distance with enough room to turn around and about 10 or 15 yards wide. I have a fish finder and marked fish holding around 15 feet and were catching a few. One lone tracker showed up with several persons, anchored several yards away and started slabbing. This was OK, but after I snatched a 5 lb Hybrid, they put their trolling motor down, moved right in and dropped anchor. I wouldn't have even given it a second thought if they had trolled in behind us, but to watch, move in and drop anchor was sorta not very friendly. We just moved on to another spot. I always try to stay at least 2 or 3 casts away from anyone sitting in another boat or fishing from the bank.
When I lived on Eagle Mountain, I would fish from my dock and have boats throwing thru my lines. Even had one pull up under my boat hanging in the lift and tie up to fish. Lake Patrol took care of that problem.
Bottom line ...There are just a lot of jerks everywhere who do not have a clue what courtesy is all about..
