We were fishing by the 377 bridge and the bird were working and this idiot ran right in the middle of the top water. I ask myself how the hell is he and everyone gonna catch those striper. Next time i will turn his falcon upside down if i see him do that one more time. There are lots of fish at the lake so have some respect!!

Keeping It Reel -- The guy in the Puke Green Falcon that we had problems with fishes from Grandpappy's to Eisenhower, major foul mouth and needs some mufflers real bad. I doubt this guy could find the west side of the lake...

Sorry to hear you met up with a bad one.

I know for a fact there are some really good professional guides on Texoma...so no need to hire a bozo when you can go with the good guys for the same price.

I don't worry too much about it -- I believe in the "You reap what you sow" principle...so when I see one of the good guides I let him have the fish I found or keep a distance if they are on the fish. These guys are not just catching fish they are teaching their customers. They also call me over at times and I get to fish with them smile smile

The unprofessional guides...word gets around and they will soon be gone...

Texoma is the worst hands down. Last summer we were all (100 boats) fishing a big school. As we were slabing I could have shaked hands with a few other people in boats. We were rod tip to rod tip drifting.

Gmann,

Texoma has a great reputation of having a lot of stripers, and so it will naturally attract all types in the crowds. The best thing to do, although you are fishing from the bank, is to surround yourself in the right crowd smile .

You will not find anyone with a "6OG" flag conducting that type of behavior.

On several situations while catching fish, either drifting or anchored, I have had other boats either anchor in my drift line, or drift into me while anchored (many people don't know how to find their own fish).

One way to attract other boaters is to use balloon lines. They must assume I know what I'm doing smile .

TEXOMA--
According to the okies ( I am not one but am
related to a few smile )
It is all the idiots from DFW that cause all the
problems on Texoma. Too much money and not enough
sense. just look around the marina's on the
OK side then compare to the DFW side.
Let me clarify-- this is not my opinion, but it
is widely held north of the red river.
good luck

Was talking to one of the good guides the other day and the subject of these jerks that call themselves guides came up. He had the best answer that i had ever heard. Calmly drive up to his boat and tell all of his customers how sorry he is.

The crowd I fish with are some of the finest people I know. The problem arises when others come from elsewhere on the lake to where we are fishing. Not that I mind that, they are entitled too.

What really gets me is that we are on the shore and limited to a fairly small area to fish and these jerks come along in a boat and feel they have to fish exactly where you are. cheers woot

I used to fish a rocky main lake point from the bank , back in the day. I had two rods rigged, the one I was using and one with the biggest topwater lure I could find. If I saw a boat about to cut the corner, I would fire that lure at thier bow. I claimed water out to about 50 yards with the rebel windcheater popper on a 7 ft flippin stick. I never hit a boat , but I made a few change course. smile Caught a 17.5lb striper with it also .
good luck

I think in many cases (like the pontoon boat) it is just ignorance on the part of the non-fisherman boat owner, rather than selfishness or malice intent. If these people are told about the mistake, they won't repeat it. However, as anyone who drives in DFW knows, there is no shortage of jerks who don't care.
