My chirren went there on a school outing this year and came back wide eyed and chattering about the place. I been there once and it is a neat place.

I went there today. It is Really fun. I was fishing at the tank and caught 30+ 1 pounder catfish. Almost caught a big one but when it surfaced it spit the hook out and the hook and bobber flew across half the pond and over the pier into a tree. It was a good fishing day today. The first time I threw the line out the bobber went under as soon as it hit the water. They were thick out there. This is a great place to take little kids to fish and look at fish.

Went back out there yesterday. Dad's got a bad heart so I try to find things he can do indoors as the heat really gets him down. Great day and I swear the catfish just keep getting bigger.

is there a state park out there as well? I want to take my kids

It is a catfish. My daughter was one of the scuba divers there this summer - this catfish loves to be "petted" !!!

Purtis Creek State Park is close by. Have stayed there a few times. It's pretty nice, but a small lake. I don't think they allow motorized boats but there are a couple of fishing docks. Lots of raccoons and they are not shy.

There are 30 plus fish in that pond, and they allow you to bring your own stuff, you can fish with 2 rods max.
