Jacops, owns FLW remember him, he is the one that said the only reason that he kept the FLW going was for boat sells, that was before he led Genmar into bankruptcy. Now he has brought in T. Boone Pickens, I wouldn't trust either one of them in an out house with a muzzle own. The only hope that I can see is the Forrest Wood group get their name sake back.

That is all it is Stories. This Pirate thing is a crock of S??. This supposally happend in April. First of all the one this supposally happend to was out on the bank taking pictures of the church, something you are not to do. The second one was a day or two latter in the same area, and was a friend of the first incident. Nothing has happend since. I fish over in Mexico all the time and have for over 30 years and all have been freindly to me. But if you want to beleive the Stories just stay on the Texas side. I personally beleive that you will be in more danger driving down here than when you get here.

My only problem with Falcon is the restirctions the GW and Boarder Patrol have. They can't cross the dividing line between the US and Mexico.

When a boat breaks down in Mexico your are SOL!

The tournaments put safety first. What if something did happen...think of the bad publicity it would get.

It's like going across to the wrong side of the railroad tracks after dark....you learn to stay away for your own safety.

Let the GW patrol the entire lake and provide safety and rescue for Americans then things probably would be better!

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

Where the hell did you hear that? Instead of repeating some wild stories please check the facts..

The real reason has to be that there is no Walmart in Zapata, TX.
It's just as well now they will not be killing any of the Falcon's big fish.

Yep, leave them for the gill netters to get, they don't discriminate against any fish, they keep them all.

Falcon and No-weighers...these are the guys people should be listening to. They live there. Unfortunatly, we have a lot people people that don't know squat chiming in about something they have no idea about. It's a shame.
As far as the FLW goes; thats the pits. Jay Yelas is a friend of mine and I was looking forward to them coming to Falcon. I was goona go as a non-boater really just to spend some time with him. Great guy. Oh-well. Guess I wiil catch up with him somewhere else. You guys and gals have a blessed day

And I will add that if Wal-mart is gonna sponsor the Flw and they are gonna cater to Wal-mart, (which is apparent), Wal-mart should get into the fish business. They have steadly declined their fishing gear and probably is the worst place to find or puschase your gear.

Folks, if there is a new "incident" at Falcon, ya'll will be the first to hear about. James Bendele (No Weighers) owns Falcon Lake Tackle and has been nothing but honest with everyone as to what goes on down there. He was the FIRST to tell us not to go into Mexican waters when the Zetas and Gulf Cartel started fighting in the towns on the Mexican side. He was the FIRST to tell us about the two groups of anglers that were robbed in the mouth of the Salado. Nothing has happened to anyone since then and, in fact, numerous credible reports from the Mexican side confirmed the pirates that were posing as Zetas were dealt with shortly after the first report.

I have been to Falcon three times since then, fished Mexican waters every day, all day on each of those trips with no problems whatsoever

The TFF has a responsibility to our members to make you aware of any credible reports of dangerous activity on any lake. We have done so and will continue to.

We also have a responsibility to not spread baseless rumors. If you have a confirmed report about fishermen's safety at Falcon or any lake, post your info and cite your CREDIBLE source.

Please do not come to the forum spreading rumors, heresay, conjecture or anything else unless you can substantiate your statement.

Very well said Chris. James has been nothing but very up front with everyone on his website when something comes up, no matter if it hurts his business or not!!

I was looking forward to FLW coming down there again. I told you guys that the "big boys" of FLW were afraid to come down there. The TD's wanted to go there really bad. But, it looks as if they were unable to convince the upper management that it truly is safe down there now. I guess this will change the AFS lake schedule up now too!!! That's a true shame too! Man was I ever looking forward to coming there in January. Guess anyone that booked rooms down there like I did for the AFS to supposedly come down there will most likely need to cancel the rooms now. Guess the AFS will most likely be going to Amistad now instead of Falcon in January. This is a bummer for Falcon's businesses that need the income really bad!!!!!!

Anyone wanting to catch a double digit needs to go there NOW!! Yes, I know it's hot as all get out there now. But, several friends have told me of their recent trips down there and how they caught as many as 5 over 10 pounds this month in two or three day trips!!! One friend told me about his catching three 10's, a 12 and even a 13 pounder!

It is a funny thing about fishing in the heat on Falcon, some how you forget about the heat when you are catching lots of good fish. Just got to be more carefull about drinking alot more fluids. As for the trounament schedule changes, my greedy side says that leaves that many more unmolested fish for me but for the great folks of Zapata I wish it didn't happen.

Please expand on this.

If one side has to provide "credible sources", does the other side have to as well or is this a one-sided deal here ?

Just trying to learn the rules here.

There are alot of areas with lakes that need the business. FlW is not going to Falcon so get over it. You may not like it but that's life. I'm sure the people around Beaver Lake that have a business are happy.
