I love Lucky Craft RC 1.5's and catch alot of fish on them BUT I have the worst luck with cracking the bill on them. Anyone else have this problem ? I try to find them on sale and stock up to avoid $20 a bait at Bass Pro. I broke Two in the last week and I am about to give up on them . What other square bill shallow crankbait y'all useing ?

Bass Pro may take them back, I have seen them take back broken crank baits recently.

+1, I bang them in rocks and they hold up great, the 6th sense proto type square bill is by far the best though

I've not had that problem with LC square bills.
Since you are, I'll offer two more companies that I believe make sb crankbaits with the best of them.
Custom Lures Unlimited's ICON by Kelly Barefoot and
the Wally G line of square bills.
I fish all of the above. Out of the wrapper and for the money, I still find the LC's to be a great choice, although I don't fish more than 50-75 days/year. Only throw that lure for 10-12 of those, so durability isn't typically an issue.

That thin bill is what gives them the action they have. I have busted a couple or three too and it hurts but when you are nailing five pounders the hurt goes away. I would stick with them and buy um on sale.

Bass Pro may take them back, I have seen them take back broken crank baits recently. i used to work for them and exchanged a few myself. i don't know if they still do though. im sure at some point in time they would have to stop maybe. the bills are thin which is one of the best qualities of the lure. they are fragile when it comes to the bill compared to a norman or bandit but that's what makes them so good...

I've broke several. Usally break them on rocks. And now I only use them on tournament days. They are the best I have found

Well now, that is borderline creepy! Me and my friend were just discussing yesterday that the RC line of cranks has the weakest bills of all of the Lucky line. I was even asking him if he thought that because at first they were a BPS exclusive that they cut some corners somehow. Anyway, yes the bills break easily.
Other cranks?..WEC's if you wan't to burn some cash, but I know strike king has a KVD 1.5 and 2.5 copycat that will hit the market soon for about 1/3 of the cost.

Is the new KVD bait the one the camera man zoomed in on the last day of fishing when he won AOY ? I hope so it looked like a custom painted bait and looked 100 times better than what Strike King is putting out now.

The only square bills I throw are BANDITS they catch tons of fish and i have never broke a bill. The only thing wrong with them are the hooks, I always replace them.
