I was gonna suggest sending a pm to L Train, but his favorite was Lake Millwood. I know he's fished Hamilton some.
Sorry

From what I understand, you should do really well on Docks. Be careful though, Arkansas passed a law a couple of years ago that you cannot fish a "Commercial" dock, being one that sells gas or anything. You have to stay so many feet from them actually. I have not fished Hamilton, but I fish Quachita allot, and my friend I grew up with in Arkansas has fished there quite a bit, and has told me the docks were good. I will forward this to him tonight, and see if he can add some things for you. I hope you have a great trip, Arkansas is a great place. We have a Farm in Ada Valley(foot of Petit Jean Mountain, and my folks live on Greers Ferry, another wonderful lake.

Hamilton is a BIGTIME pleasure boat lake during the summer - especially on the weekends - BIGTIME. There will be a LOT of traffic there after about 10 AM.....Jet skis and skiers and pontoon boats....
You can try in the mouth of Hot Springs Creek right now early in the morning - 6:30 - until about 11 or so. There will probably be other boats around there if the whites and hybrids are schooling and breaking top water. It is really hit and miss - yesterday they were schooling a little west of there and we caught about 20 stripers and hybrids by about 10 AM - some pretty good size...Went back today and caught only TWO.....????? Just depends..Buy a couple of Zara Puppy topwater baits and some Rooster Tails -- white..
If you have a boat and can do it --- I would really suggest fishing Lake DeGray - it is not very far from Hot Springs...I went there two days in the past week - one day we caught 23 Largemouth and hybrids and the other day we caught over 20 but did not count them. Early morning top water bite is good there now... Both days I was back home in Hot Springs for lunch...For me it is too hot to fish after about 11 unless some clouds come through.
Eat a burger at Jason's on Amity Road just off Hwy 7, If you like Mexican - eat a meal at Colorado Grill - downtown...Eat some BBQ at Smokin in Style or McClards....out by airport. Tour downtown art area...Take the boat out on Hamilton at night - but be careful...very pleasant. Tour downtown and do one of the bath houses and gangster museum. If you have kids - take them to Magic Springs Water Park. If you like looking at fishing gear - go to Trader Bills out by the airport. Have fun and send me a message if you have questions.

Drop shot the bridges or shakey head the docks plum candy is a good color to use. After dark is better but get bigger on baits size. Lived there for five years and fish it when i go back. I like quachita or degray better. also after dark black buzz or spinner baits.
