does anyone know if they drain Lavon if Ray Hubbard gets "too low"? Noticing RH dropping a lot, heck, my wet slip won't be wet much longer. Only 3 ft low from what I saw online today, but that is a lot on this lake.

They are owned by two different water districts. The controling distric of Ray Hubbard would have to buy it from Lavon.

That stinks for Ray Hubbard. Not like ray hubbard could ever let water into Lavon, lol.

In the past they've let water. Several year ago when Lavon got so low, they were still letting some water out for Hubbard. Never understood that.

From what I have heard they are letting water out of Ray Hubbard because they are ready to put cross beams on the 190 bridge they are building.

There are laws in place you cannot totally stop flow of the original river. There is always water leaving lavon, and always water leaving hubbard.

Actually they can pump it back into Lavon from below the ray hubbard dam. (if Lavon bought it from them)

Junior believe me when I say Lavon on a year to year basis needs it more than Hubbard.

Reason Hubbard is hurting so bad this year is the problems at the pump station at Tawokoni.

This is so true. Do a youtube search for Lake Lavon and you will see pics of the lake dry as a bone as you drive across the bridge.

Lavon has silted in soo bad that it doesn't hold the volume it once did and it supplies a growing rural area all around North Central Texas. We get ours from Lavon all the way down here in Crandall, and it taste like moss(dirt) from the algae bloom.

I have seen people launching their boats at some of the ray hubbard ramps recently and they arent realizing how low it is. They launch their boat and then try to move their boat out of the no wake area but it doesnt go anywhere so they punch the throttle and throw mud all over the place.

Best part is this one person was still confused as to why they werent moving. Hopefully we get a lot of needed rain soon.

Wow, I never knew lavon has been that low before.

I believe the 190 comment. I have been fishing Lavon and Hubbard for close to 30 years. The only time I have seen Hubbard this low is when there is a bad drought and Lavon drops 10-15'. As far as the mud/algae taste that is typical for hot turbid water. Without the wind and the inflow outflow and then add heat that is what you get. I like to rinse my contacts in tap water but sometimes in the middle of summer I have to quit because of the algae.

The Ft Worth District website shows Hubbard to be a little over 3ft low. That is normal around this time of the year.

its more than that. more like 4-4.5'. 66 ramp is almost to the point of unusable. heath ramp is about the same. dalrock- havent been there, but I am sure people are driving off the end of the ramp(huge dropoff). ... beeee careful=- that website is wrong.

I got it now. Chandlers is giving Dallas a piece of it's launch fees so all the other ramps are not usable. They will then make a killing with their ridiculous launch fees and maybe even more with their repair business.

I fished Lavon over the weekend and the lake had to be 3-4' low. The courtesy dock at Clear Lake was in inches of water.
