I have a 1984 200HP Merc and get a high temp alarm around 3000 rpms under a load. I have changed out the thermostats, water pump, and poppit valve, it ran fine for a couple of hours then did the same thing also when the alarm goes off I notice the water pressure drops to zero. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next? Thanks

Thanks for the responses, I did replace the entire water pump and housing and the impellar twice and confirmed the gaskets are installed correctly.

I am guessing you have trash in the exhaust adaptor. Pull everything down, removing thermostats, poppet assembly, lower unit, port fitting on exhaust adaptor and the pipe plug at top of block, then start flushing using water and then air Check the water pickup on the lower unit for trash.

were all the blades intact when you changed your old impeller out? If not did you find all of the pieces
