Went out on Sunday morning with Boston Bob. We had a great day of fishing. Fishing TNT Slabs with a Flies-by-Night Fly. Finally got into some good hybrids thanks to Boston Bob, we caught 5 legal hybrids and over 50 sandbass, but we were mostly targeting the hybrids. We caught some good sandbass slabbin as well though. We also caught 5 catfish on slabs, did not know that a blue or channel cat would hit a slab. Still playing with some knots he showed me. The dropper loop and a knot that he used to tie his braid to his fluro leader. Any one got some tips for the braid to fluro knot? Here are some pic from the trip. Thanks again Boston Bob, great day of fishing and very informative, I would highly recommend a trip with him.

Here is a pic of double hybrids we caught, one was not legal and was thrown back clap

My nephews first hybrid as well

This is a pic of the 4 largest hybrids we caught thumb

This is our nice mess of fish!Catfish, Hybrids, and sandbass food

A good tutorial for knots:

Albright is the one I use to join braid to flurocarbon.

Glad you had a good time, Shep! nice pics! thumb
the knot that Bob ties to join the flouro/braid is an
Albright knot, which after some practice is relatively easy to tie. 25 wraps is the key. the uni-to-uni will work fine, too.
whatever you have the most confidence in, is the knot you should use. there are many joining knots that DONT work w/ braid, especially that waxy power-pro!

nice catch- looks like you all had a good time

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
