If you want a low end cast net, they are on sale 8-8-10 at Academy if the price ends with 88 cents. Saw some Tournament Choice 3/8 mesh both 5 and 6 feet here in Abilene for less than 8 dollars each. I am certainly not promoting this cast net, but if you want something cheap, there it is until they sell them out. For me, I utilize the nets with 1/4 inch mesh in order to catch the smaller shad and ghost minnows.

Of course there are other things in the fishing dept. on sale, but not all of it is catfish related. You might want to check your local Academy for sale items, it started today.

Rod Riot also started if you are in need of a rod at reduced prices. I think every rod they have qualifies for some discounting.

I just went to Academy and they are not having a sale as such. They are only puttting .88 cents on items that they are closing out and throwing them in bins and they are not going to carry that item anymore. This was per store manager.

Different academia are closing out different items. If it's fishing related and ends in .88 then it's 50% off. I bought an American rodsmith titanium 7'6" flipping stick that was marked down for a 20 dollar bill yesterday. Bought a spinning combo for 9 $ and so on..

I went to the one off Hwy 114 (Fort Worth area) and the one off I35 close to Lewisville, both had some really good deals but the Lewisville store didn't have as many things marked for close out.
I did get 2 cast nets at the 114 location.
I got one nylon and one mono, what is the difference in these?

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!
