The misses and I had our weekly saturday morning fishing session this morning, and man did we have a good time. I set her up with an ultralight float rig using maggots to catch bluegill for bait. She ended up hooking a 5 pound buffalo on that rig! She played it well and after about 5 minutes it finally stopped peeling off line and eased into the net.

My PB longnose gar(9.5 lbs and 46") came about an hour later using a live bluegill float fished about 2.5 ft deep. That was such a fun fight. They really catch some air. Here's some pics for your enjoyment.

Grats!!

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me.
When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.

The BFS sling is the best BFS product I have used. Some things are hard to make cheaply, but this sling seems to not be one of them. It's around 40" long, but this gar was hang out both ends. Pretty funny to see.
