I'm going to be out in Plano next week for meetings for my company, and was wondering if there is any fishing I can do in the Plano area in the evenings. I will only have Wed and Thurs evening free. If not fishing, are there any large tackle shops I can check out? I live in Southern California, and am always one for checking out new styles/types of fishing.
thanks,
Johnny

Not sure on the bank fishing in Plano. The biggest tackle shops you will find is Bass Pro Shops in Garland and one in Grapevine. There is also a Cabelas a little further away in Ft. Worth.

There is a chain of ponds just west of Preston, around the Spring Creek/Legacy area. Always see people fishing there. Not sure where you can gain access. Try the strip mall on the southwest corner of Preston and Tennyson.

Thanks, guys! Have to decide what to do. I've been to a few BPS, Ft. Lauderdale, Vegas, and Rancho Cucamonga, but have never been to a Cabelas, so might have to check that out! Conference is in Plano, but my hotel is actually pretty close to the DFW airport.

I fish for catfish and bass on the south side of the dam there off Tennyson. I drive through the weeds on Windcrest between the apartment complex's under the high line. The trail takes you right to it. -Cheers-
