I have an Ambassadeur bait caster that I cleaned the other night after fishing. When I first put it back together and dropped a little oil in the gears everything checked out ok. But now that it's set overnight the spool brake and the drag are sticking a little. I can let brake all the way loose and it doesn't change how fast a weigh falls. Did I oil it when I wasn't supposed to or something?

As long as you didn't put a lot of oil in the gears I don't see anything wrong with what you did. Give it a good looking over, if you don't see anything unusual maybe it will loosen up the more you use it!

I did put too much oil on the gears like you mentioned. Washed it out real good and it works. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
