As posted in the local newspaper:

Some local folks want to open the Trinity River waterway that stretches from Lake Bridgeport to Eagle Mountain lake. The aim is to open this waterway for public recreational use such as nature tours and kayaking. While it may already have some kayaking, the goal is to expand public awareness and draw more tourists. I'm not sure whether this will be an asset to my favorite lake or not.

If they do that they are going to want a constant draw off of Lake Bridgeport which means that our lake that never stays at a constant level will probably start being more constant!!!!

HA, HA. There talking about it being a ruff EDEN. That is probably the funniest thing I have ever heard. My grandfather owns the land around the first 3-4 miles past tarrant county water boards property on the back side of Lake Bridgeport. I can remember serveral days when I went down to the river and paddled around in a john boat for a while just to get chased out by so many cotton mouths that you couldnt go any where. There was one day that we had one get in the boat with us and we got out on the shore just to get chased back to the boat by a bunch of wild hogs. People need to realise that its not all swans and turtles down on the river, also when the waters rise the snakes get pushed out of there natural setting and they may just want to make your kayak thier new home.
