night time, under the lights. the shad are thick and the white bass are so fat they look as if they are ready to pop! kept a good mess but threw most of them back. the perdanales country store is out of minnows. call them before coming out to check on availablity. KC's on 71 is the other option but they close much earlier. i used a 1/16oz asssassin. move it wround until you feel the shad hitting your line then wait your turn.

Well I'm single with a (girlfriend)...
And I clean mine on the kitchen table, but I do clean-up my own mess myself. As to be expected ...
Sure wish I could get my (girlfriend) to at least skim "the red meat off the whites."
Of course, ...just the little bit of red meat off the whites that's left when you filet them (or at least when I filet them...lol) doesn't really bother me that much...

Anyhow, I fished lighted dock in the Hudson Bend area early Sunday morning 5-9am... And caught 3 LM Bass 16-18"... 2 Guadalupe-(Spotted)- Bass both approx. 16"... Plus 3 Magnum- Sandies 15-17" and 2 Sandies 12-13"... All fish were caught on live-shad and live-perch 2-4"...Free-lining 2/0 arberdeen hook and with 1/2 weight, 2-10' off bottom in 25-30' deep water.

Fixing to go get an early start tonight, fishing the same spot...
Leave report later this week..

smile !!GOOD FISHING AND FUN TO ALL!! smile

cool FISHINGFOOL40 cool

I know that alot of white bass and crappie are caught at River Ranch, which is a private marina at the mouth of Colorado and Pedenale River split.
See this link:
http://www.resortranch.com/marina.htm

I have heard you have to pay to fish or know the owners...I have never been to this place by land, just by water. All the times I have gone by the marina at night, there are quite a few fishermen or fisherwomen....

I will have to charge my boat batteries and hopefully start to locate the whites soon. I prefer crappie, but those 18" whites are great to catch on light tackle!
