I know we always look forward to the adventure of trying to get a 17ft bass boat up the Elm Fork of the Trinity at Raybob every Spring in search of spawning sandies. Always have to have some waders on to get out and push past some of the rocks and sandbars. Realize its all about getting water temps closer to 60 and getting some water running over the gravel. We've found em there as early as late Feb and as late as early April. Anybody made a run up there yet and if not any ideas when the run might start this yr if weather stays reasonable?

Does anyone know if the sandies make it all the way up to I-35 by Gainesville? what I could see from the freeway, it looked awful shallow, but I would be willing to bet there are some deep holes, (a la White Rock Creek by Greenville Avenue), that will hold spawning sandies. Inquiring minds want to know

this cold snap has probably slowed things down a bit. at least thats my guess. My bet is the next good warming spell followed by some rain will start the chat rooms humming. Lets keep each other informed out there...
