You already know the answer...some are douchebags, some are cool. It's a damned shame that it's so easy to stereotype all of them by the actions of a few. Same holds true for everybody though, sorry they ruined your fishing, that does suck.

Every lake I have been to on a weekend I have found plenty of dumb [censored] people more than willing to screw up your fishing. It makes me want to tie a slab to some braid line and see if I can hit them in the head when driving by. Maybe a DD22 in the ear lobe would do the trick.

8 foot spinning rod, 50 pound braid, and 4-5 ounce sinkers should be fun...make sure you lead them good...60-70 mph is a fast moving target...lol.

100 yards is quite a distance. How far away should the boats be. The other side of the lake?

100 and closer with about 10 boats sitting still. 3 differnt boats went by doing 6o + before sun rise. Hell I can cast a slab 75 to 100 yards. duel

100 yards away sounds ok to me. That sure beats the jet fleas and ski boats that pass close enough to hit them with a rock!

Shoot 50 yards is ok. Its not like they are doig circles like a wakeboarder and not like a bass bost makes that big of wake. Of your talking less tjan 50 yards in a cove or something that's assholeish. But 50-100 yards main lake that's ok. Besides don't gripe them running around is sturring up the bait therefore keeping the striper feeding.

I don't want to take sides here but 100 yards or 300 feet is well within the legal limit to pass other boats under way or anchored. Its not always something that feels good at the time but its hard to expect more than the legal limit on public waters.Sometimes we must accept the idea that others on the water that are boating within the legal limits have just as much right to do so as we do.That being said, its always a very nice and polite thing to give boats that are in your area as much room as you can without going too far out of your way to do so.

Lets watch out for each other out there and be as courteous as we can .Its all about having a good time without pushing on someone elses good time.

Smith- is that you? I can tell you that I do not like to have it done to me so I do not do it to others!

100 yards is more than enough....if that was all the closer the ski boats and jet fleas came I would be more than happy....

100 yards? I would be ecstatic if boats would stay that far away when they passed by me. That's a rarity.

How do you know these were "bass fisherman" ? Did you witness them catching only bass or did you discuss with them which species they were targeting?
I fish a lot of main lake stuff in the summer and a regular occurrence for me is to have a center console boat run by me @ WOT a lot closer than 100 yards. Not once have I cried, whined or complained about it on T.F.F. I have just written off to anyone that does that must not be high enough on the intelligence "food chain" to know any better, not really worried about what they are fishing for ..

Tight Lines!
