better coverage on free tv (non cable).... open it up for everyone to see! fans will come. I agree with you brother - but according to the press release, all coverage will remain with ESPN... I wonder if WFN/OUTDOOR or VERSUS would offer better TV coverage if they got the TV contract...? What ever happened to 'World's Greatest Fishing Show'? My DZVR can't find it....

ESPN is dropping all outdoor shows execpt BASS, is what I heard through the grapevine. Actually they clarified that through BassFan the other day. They will continue to show live programming and events. The Bassmasters classify as an event and as such will remain on ESPN. They will show other outdoor events as well. I assume those would be logging competitions, maybe some shooting competitions etc... However they will not air any 'shows'. Kinda sucks too, because the Fishin Hole (while not on the air anymore) was a 'show'. So was Zona's program and the Spanish Fly etc... Anyway, just though I'd share what ESPN was clarifying the the other day about their press statements to do away with Outdoor programming.

ESPN reaches more households with sporting content than all other networks and it allows the pros that fish BASS a great outlet to provide impresions over other opportunities. To put it in prespective ESPN2 reaches the most, FOX Sports Net the second most, Versus the third most, Outdoor Chanenel the fourth and all others fall well below that. Many viewers have niche networks they enjoy however it's hard to position those networks at a top tier and draw advertising support.
You can rest assured McKinnis has forgotten more about television in the outdoors programing world than many know. He and is group with thier ties to CSE will position this property and the other shows that support it on other networks as well as ESPN thus in the end probablly providing more hours of coverage than before over more diverse platforms.
I predict good things ahead for all of bass fishing as well as some surprising annoucments this coming week at FLW Championship.
Many good things ahead after a couple rough years for bass fishing!
