Does it hurt to run non-foul plugs in a 97 merc 200 efi engine? The idle is low and will die.

No! You need to find the cause of the running problem. I would treat the fuel with Sea Foam to clean the injectors and make shure all cylinders are firing. Change the manual fuel pump diaphrams, fuel filter and all fuel lines. Look at all of the bleed lines good at connections for cracks. The ignition advance module may have quit.

I just put the power head back on, it burned a hole in #5 piston. I replaced all the fuel lines and the buld which was decaying, only thing I have not replaced is the fuel diphrams and the water separator and the filter on the bleeder lines. I also removed the oil injection and am mixing the oil with sta-built. I am taking it to the shop this week to get electronics and injectors diagnosed. Thanks
Can you tell me how the bleeder lines work or what is the purpose for them?

They are their to bleed fuel to prevent puddeling, which causes ruff idle and bogging on take off.
