we moved to lampasas texas, do not own a boat , looking for shoreline or pier fishing holes for my boys ages 8, 10, and 12 to just go for a few hours and catch anything!

Id go to belton or stillhouse, its been years since ive been down there but always caught fish around the marinas, winter time in the fishing docks at the marinas also, but again been years since ive been down there

Take down to the river there in town. Lots of shoreline access.

The river in town is actually sulfer creek and there is alot of shore line access. There are several places on the lampasas river you can also hit. Inks lake has a few bank fishing spots as well as buchannon. Send me a pm and i will tell you about a few of my fishin holes.

Don't forget Colorado Bend as well. Especially during the White run.

there is sulfur in most waters in Texas, just a little more in the Creek. Baits really depend on what you are going after, bread catches tons on catfish, carp and talapia. I bass fish it a lot. any of your normal bass tackle works fine, there is a ton of coontail and hydrilla in there, during the summer a 1oz jig in that grass kills them. right now the creek is being lowered (the city parks department are idiots) but when they close the dam back off go down there with a buzzbait just before dark
