Seems like they haven't been broadcast as much this year. I've been trying to catch some repeats and they don't even have those on that I can tell.

that is a relief. as soon as i heard the news that ESPN had purchased BASS, i thought it would turn into a media circus type deal. i think they did a decent job, but i also believe they were trying (and succeeding) to get away from the basic principles of the sport itself. for instance the feel for the need to change the formats in order to gain money. lets get it back to what it was meant to be....

Disney/ESPN did not know what they were getting into when they purchased BASS, but I think the group of investors will do a great job and I think a lot of the current format will change, but I do think it will be at least a year before we see a major change, if the sell goes through.
Who would like to see a MEGABUCKS format again??

Seems like we have someone up in DC talking about how great change is. Hope BASS does not fall into that bottomless pit.............

Well when ESPN bought BASS the first Classic they held was the most screwed up affair I have ever attended. Just maybe the Classic will get moved back to summer time like it should be. One thing for sure it can't get any worse.

Don't count on anything getting better. Sure, the programing will change a bit, just for a "fresh" look. But ESPN still owns the broadcasting. The probability of "live" broadcasts is still zero! Fishing is not going to be a spectator sport for live TV. I wish it could but for the money makers to make money you need continuous events to occur almost on cue. As we all know bass fishing most of the time is hours of boredom with only minutes of action. Long periods of casting will not keep people interested. Hopefully the new owners can come up with some innovative ideas to keep bass tournaments interesting for TV thereby keeping the sport viable for years to come. Let's all hope!

What I would like to see improve is get better for spectators at tournaments. It used to be a lot different before ESPN. At the Classic the expo was opened the night before for life members and federation members they always had food and drinks for everyone. This all stopped when ESPN bought BASS. The 1st Classic after the purchase was in New Orleans and it was a mess. The 1st 2 days weigh ins were at the convention center and the life member seatins was standing. The last day they had biggest part of the super dome curtained off and a lot of sponsors didn't have seats.

Some rumors going around that the guy who started ranger boats was also involved in the purchase with the other three (mckinnis etc) mentioned. Think theres any chance FLW and BASS merge their schedules into one tour with two majors the classic and the cup?, or possibly ranger will just move some sponsorship over to BASS again.
