Has anyone been to Samuell Farms lately? If not lately have you ever been there and how is the Bluegill Fishing. Went to check it out but didn't take a rod and didn't see anyone fishing. Would like to go back and try on Saturday since they are only open 9-5 Wed-Sun. What is the best bait?

I thought they locked that place up because they can't afford to run it. Dallas wants to sell it, but when it was given to the city, it was with the stipulation that it never be sold. That is, if you are talking about the place in Mesquite off of I-80.

I've been told by several people that in the pond in the very back there is good bass and HUGE bluegill.

Thanks all for the replies. I am going to go there Saturday morning when they open the gate and give it a try. Will let you all know how I did and hopefully post some pics.

It's still open....kinda. The city of Dallas no longer keeps a staff on site, so it is barely maintained anymore. Someone comes by in the morning and afternoon to unlock/lock the gates.

Fishing hasn't been very good there this summer, though I mostly go for LMB.

Went a couple of Saturday's ago but didn't catch anything. Got a few bites off of crickets. Didn't stay to long though. Saw five other guys there but didn't see them pulling in anything either. May try again next Saturday closer to the full moon.

a couple yrs ago i got a big bass out of the front pond by hwy on a roostertail. should be that time of year. lots of bluegill by the house that is abandoned
