Everyone is discounting the last 2 tournaments (playoffs) as not relevant for AOY, I think you should change the first 2 tournaments into pre-season events and not count the points and then refigure the AOY points. Call me crazy but they mean less according to the haters opinion nuts. May still turnout the same.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

It is supposed to be ANGLER OF THE YEAR not who wins the last tournament. There is already the classic, a winner takes all tournament. They need to change the name to Tour Champion or something because it is no longer the Angler of the Year. There are a bunch of past AOY winners who would have never stood a chance in this format. A great summer crankbait fisherman will win every year from now on. And what's up with holding the championship week on the same lakes year after year. Who do you think wins next year? You might as well engrave the trophy now.

It appears that KVD could have actually won the majority of the tournaments that he was involved in. It's as if he decided to lay back -just didnt want to take all the money and spot light . No over kill ! If a guy wins a tournament that he was entered in -he could almost give a smurk to say - " I let you win ". This guy wins at will. No challenge for him as long as the boat runs good , and his gear is on board.

KVD is the greatest angler of all time. He didn't write the rules. Everyone knew them going in. He won fair and square by the rules as laid out. He was better in Alabama than anyone else - no doubt.

My problem is that it not Angler of the Year. It is no longer a measure of the most consistent angler over the entire year. Everyone who wants to compete, better work on their summer crankbaiting, because the best at that is your AOY.

I think FZ1 and RedRanger should go on a blind date together. Match made in heaven!

Meet KVD couple times, especially the the Lewisville Elites. I had many conversations with him, he has the personality of a stick

Ike - Amazing with the crowds and the public, KVD should take notes
