Catches like that were common on Texoma 30 years ago. I haven't seen a freshwater striper that big in a long time. Nice catch!

I was using gizzard shad on the bottom, in about 30-40 feet of water. I wanted to take it to the taxidermist, but since I was away from home I wasn't sure where to find a good one, so I just kept it and grilled it along with the other 12 decent fish.

Look for "Brady Mountain Resort", we fished in front of it in about 35 feet of water. Use live bait, preferably gizzard shad and fish off the bottom around 7am-9am. You'll get into them!
