Question for those who have this particular St. Croix rod. How would this rod perform as a carolina rig rod with 3/4 oz sinkers? As a 3/4 oz football jig rod? Is the tip action strong enough for these heavier baits? The rod info says the tip is flexible enough for casting light frogs so I wonder about fishing with heavier baits.

Yes to all. You can cast big baits and jack em with any St.Croix 7'HF action rod. If St.Croix puts H on the rod its just that.

The rod doubles great for those baits. And does a heck of a good job for a frog rod!
One of the best rods I have ever bought.
St.Croix replaced a 10 year old rod for me this year for 50.00 bucks. No questions asked.
You can't go wrong with St.Croix
