Ok so lots of new guys I have not met, and a number of the old gang I have not seen in some time. I was just surprised with the weekend off so anyone interested in getting together for a non-fishing, air-conditioned social event? We could do a dinner/drinks thing, BBQ at someone's house (remember the pool party?) or whatever. Was thinking wives/kids welcome if you don't mind them being exposed to a buncha carpers.... thoughts? Anyone free? I hear a few guys like the flying saucer....

I am tied up Saturday evening and Sunday

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me.
When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.

what you need it the following:

a cheap lawn chair

some sanbags

a sombrero

a tall pod

an inflatable raft.

what you do is:

set the lawn chair in water just deep enough that if you're sitting in it, you are at neck level.

set your pod up at the same level. (storm poles in a fox pod are brilliant for this)

use the sandbags to hold your chair down

put your bait, method, ice chest and radio in the inflatable raft and tie it to the lawn chair

sit in chair with sombrero on your melon.

catch fish.

Mark -- shame we aren't a little closer - I'd be there -- however, I have a date with some golden thugs in the AM. New idea's for both method & stick mixes need to be tested, and -- sorry, gotta go and check my sanity is still as unstable as it has been for all these years shocked

Ha! Kayak surfing was a great way to keep cool. I think there were at least 3 of us under that umbrella. I also remember picking up heavy rocks and walking them as deep as we could before dropping them and swimming to the surface. It was ridiculously hot but we had fun!

I forgot about that. We sure found a lot of ways to have a blast while blanking, and stayed cool in the process.

Ok so you guys left me hanging.. I ended up bored and went to watch TV which I never do. I realized that I needed a new entertainment center to store all the my audio/video [censored] and my old broken down TV. Ended up buying a new TV AND cabinet! and its HD so now I need a blueray player and I have to upgrade my cable to HD service and prob gonna have to upgrade my cable package to get all the cool outdoor channels too, cause man HD is cool! All of this is your fault! Yes you.. stop looking around I'm talking to you...

Ha!

And when you go and get a Blue Ray player, you are going to need to replace your DVD collection.

You are screwed.
