I can't believe I waited as long as I did for mine. Unreal the stuff you can find that you never knew about before. I think they are essential. I wouldn't be w/o one now.

Humminbird Side Imaging is a MAJOR tool in practice, at least for me. I prefer to fish offshore if I can and, like BoomBoom said, I can't imagine fishing without it now.

I'm jealous, but God gave me some good instincts, just not side imaging ones.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

I use mine all the time to eliminate water prefishing, fun fishing and tournaments. It is a time saving tool.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

I've had one for several years now still trying to figure out. Can we swap some on the water lessons for a case of beer?

Do not use in tourny you will lose way to much time fishing. The best way i have found to use si is leave all rods at home and go scan the lake and mark spots. Then next time fish all the spots you marked.

Very effective tool for pre-fishing! But like ssbassman12 says you burn a lot of time looking for potential productive places. It is amazing the clarity and precision in which you can view the lakes and find structure!

Just curious. How many of you have to see fish on your SI in order to fish a spot?

It's definitely a heck of a tool to have. You can either waste time fishing unproductive water where there aren't any fish or you can use the same time graphing that area and then leaving when you don't see the fish. Fish definitely show up on it so you'll know right away if they're there.
