Got on the water at 10:00 AM and off at 6:00 PM and only managed 10 fish. 1 Hybrid, 8 Sandies, and 1 Gaspergoo/Drum. The wind was blowing hard, but we were still able to fish, just not catch any. We marked fish all over the place, just never found any really stacked up. After fishing about 10 spots and 4 hours we only managed 1 small drum. We fished spots that have produced really well for me the past 3 weekends, and then yesterday, nada. So we finally decided that the only way to catch some was to drift. We drifted for several hours over deep water points, humps, and ridges with nary a bite. Finally we found some takers suspended over the humps on the dam. All of the sandies and the one hybrid came from here later in the afternoon. I wish that I had better news to report, but the fish just had lock jaw yesterday. Here is a pic of the medium sized hybrid that we caught.

Thanks for the report Cowtown. It will be about two more weeks before I can get back out there so keep them stirred up for me. This little warming trend and longer days should really improve things.
Did you try the crappie??

What's going on Fuzzy?
We tried for anything that would bite. We used the same technique (live minnows and feeder goldfish Carolina rigged) as the previous weeks when we caught plenty of crappie and sandies. They were just scattered out and didn't want to bite yesterday. However, the last good mess of crappie that we caught (3 weeks ago) most of them had eggs in them, so they may be making a move to shallower water. We didn't try shallow because the lake temp was the same as it had been the previous 3 weeks (49-51) I read Guy's post earlier today and it said that sometimes 52 degree water is all that it takes to get some of them moving to a pre-spawn pattern near shallow water. So maybe that is where the crappie went.

Hey cowtown,
That was Jimmye and me that came over to you at Longhorn point when you caught that gasper. I figured you didn't notice us in my new boat. Glad to hear you caught something, we struck out. We marked fish all over the place like you said, just couldn't get them in the boat. See you next time, and as always, thanks for the report.

Weekend,
When we got to the next spot I told my partner that I thought that it was you, but I didn't recognize the boat. Then when I drove to work this morning I drove past Johnson's Fiberglass and it dawned on me that you got a new CC. (Nice boat by the way) I wish that I would have said something and we could have compared notes, but I know what to look for now.
