Just got off LL. I can't believe what happened! A red ranger with two guys catfishing singing real loud. I pull up about 100 yards away (making a wide bearth) and drift fished. After about 20 min these guys start up and proceed to run circles around me waving!!!! Not once but twice!! Thet went out of there way to create wakes like I did somthing wrong!! I hate to say it but they sounded like a bunch of drunks!! Is it that we are no longer safe from ourselves? Isn't it enough to put up with Jet skis and party boats?? I wish I got there Reg #. I would report them. This really pissed me off1 You guys are JERKS!! Grow up!!!!
Tight Lines! God Bless

That is why I keep my digital camera on the boat.
Thank you, Shawn Smith

Yes, i was out there and they started signing and playing the drums, or what sounded like drums. I left, it looked like a white Bay Boat was near and I thought it was the Texas Game and Fish. Not sure. I thought they were drunk also.

I was on palestine yesterday and was on some birds .......the school was right off the nose of my boat about 20 yards and 2 other boats who were following each other came up.....one got 30 yards to my right and threw his spoon on the other side of my boat and about 40 ft off my nose.........the other boat came around and was facing my boat......when I heard his bait hit 25ft from my boat i thought it was a bird diving but no it was just another idiot........Hope he reads this and he had a white vip boat about 18ft.....I turned on the big motor and left as not worth it...was on good hybrids till they stormed in......plently of room for 3 boats but VERY RUDE to throw that close to anybody.......guess his dad did a poor job of raising him.....should have told him what I thought about it but just left instead as those type of people just dont get it......guess next time I will throw at his boat instead to keep him out of range of hitting my boat........

get the net,
last time i checked everyone who pays the state of texas for registration of their boat and for a texas fishing license has just as much right as you do be out on a lake fishing as you do. its no secret that when the birds are working an area the white bass/hybrids are there and active, therefore you shouldnt be suprised to see other people besides your self fishing where the birds are at. it is really iratating when people get pouty and throw fits because other people come in to an area to fish, especially when they get the misconception that the other people come in to fish a certain just because they see you fishing it; not because they already knew about that spot or because they are fishing a pattern or because they see something on their electronics, or in this case they also see the birds working. if it were me and i had a problem with someone fishing near me(which i don't because any angler has just as much right to be anywhere on public water as i do), i would say something then and there so they know how i dont appreciate it instead of griping on the internet about it.

he ain't mad because they were fishing too, he is mad because they had no manners. there is no reason to cut people off, throw lures next to another boat, etc. i have been on stripers / whites many times and have had ten or more boats working together with no problems, but all it takes is an idiot to ruin the whole works (let's not even mention the genius who rolls right in with their big outboards...)

I saw the same guy cut between me and a fishing buddy of mine in another boat (red metal flake ramger?) - waving the whole time. I didn't realize it was a 'bit' at the time - I now believe he was being a smart a. That's part of it on LL.

the guys in the ranger sound like some real jerks. from time to time you will run into retards like that on the lake. it's a real shame to here that they were in a bass boat, thats the kind of behavior you expect from the rich kids and yahoo pleasure boaters in their 30 foot yachts.

DEAR BASSMASTERBURN,
I CERTAINLY DONT MIND SHARING THE WATER AS I NEVER LAID CLAIM TO THOSE FISH.....BUT FOR SOMEBODY TO THROW HIS SPOON ABOUT 3 ROD LENGTHS FROM THE SIDE OF MY BOAT IS BS......I AM FAIRLY SURE YOU WOULD NOT ENJOY A BOAT PULLING UP ON YOU AND THEN YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE AREA OR CAST AWAY FROM THE FISH SO YOU DONT ENTANGLE THEIR LINES OR GET YOUR BOAT DAMAGED FROM THEIR LURE BOUNCING OFF THE SIDE OF YOUR BOAT......

"one got 30 yards to my right and threw his spoon on the other side of my boat and about 40 ft off my nose........." you must be using some long rods if 3 of them come out to a length of 30 yards. whats that.......10 ft rods? it sounds to me like you had plenty of space. you should try fishing in a river with 6 other boats fishing the same hole you are. i also dont see how your boat could be damaged by a lure that lands 25 foot from your boat.

I dont even fish around birds anymore for that reason. I go out to enjoy myself, not to be put in the company of people I cant stand.
If I'm anchored up I've been known to toss 2oz slabs back at em. If you get within casting distance of me, you do so at your own risk.

Here's one for y'all. Tell me your opinion.
We do alot of deep water trolling at Tawokani. I do not have GPS on my boat So when I hang a fish I throw out a buoy to mark the spot. Several times last year, I would mark a spot, usually when a fish hit, fight the fish, and by the time I could get deployed for another pass someone would be sitting right on top of my bouy. And then they would scowl at me as I trolled lines right down the side of their boat!
I know, I don't own the lake, and have some real obediance problems if I own the fish in the lake. But how would you take this? Luckily they always pull up, drop a slab to the bottom, pump it a few times, and leave (having never caught a fish). Never paying any attention to what I'm doing (other than maybe seeing me reel in a fish).
Yes the solution is to get GPS, and I plan on it as soon as the the prices come down a bit more. But until then, I guess I'll just have to deal with them.
Jay
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
