Don't think I'd want to do that either. Too much of an investment to watch it fall apart. Mines a CC. It gets washed down top to bottom at the nearest car wash to the ramp AND gets dunked in a fresh water lake on the way home, just for assurance. I still get corrosion and wear and tear on some hardware and carpet bunks. And that's a boat built for saltwater!! Bass boat- no way. Find a cheap CC or aluminum flats boat and save yourself a headache. Or just hire a guide- you'll probably catch and learn more that way!!

I wouldn't put my bass boat in salt water. trailer would fall apart. Hatch hinges and shocks also would rust.

I want to thank everyone for their contributions to the topic. It sounds like the salt, both water and air, is really a beast. You each have given me a ton to consider. I appreciate that and, I think that my boat will appreciate it as well.

Thanks!

I agree with everyone else. Back in 90's went and stayed a week at Rockport. I took my pretty Ranger Bass Boat there and fished everyday. After the fishing I would wahs my boat anf flush the engine. I spent no less than 2 hours after each trip washing and cleaning. When I got home I had rust in alot of places. I had other issues as well. So, I would only put a boat in the saltwater that is made for the salt water otherwise you will have problems and it is just not worth it. Cheaper to do some trips with guides plus they will improve your catching as well!
