I see some of the same guys that beat us over the head with their fish care qualifications putting on dead of summer tournaments and championships....Does that make any sense???

Disclaimer: I am not a peta fan and believe taking some fish out of some of these lakes isn't hurting anything.....just wondering....

JR, I have long been an opponent of dead of summer tournaments, period.

I like a three fish format with any summer tournament.
I personally get tired of seeing so many dead fish being brought in by guys with the newer boats. You would think they would know how to circalate water in them.
I feel if you were disqualified for weighing dead fish in, instead of just losing 1/2 pound penalties and such, more people would learn how to take better care of their catches.
Fish care should be the priority in any tournament, no matter what time of the year.

I agree, I still see more fish die from the way they are handled by the guys putting on the tournys than the fishermen. Hot water in the waiting line tanks, no chemical in those tanks, then afterward a quick dump in shallow water. Most of the fishermen I see take good care of their fish.

During the summer, lets just take them home for a fish fry.

Like the good old days.I'll supply the hush puppies!
I would rather do that than go to the lake the next couple of days and see them floating.

I ended up taking home a 8 3/4 pounder last week after our TNT.
I wasn't to happy it was killed, but it sure was delicious.

Makes sense to me. Smaller bag limit in summer. Maybe big fish only tournaments.
