How are the whites doing on Ray Roberts lately? Where to look?

I am ready for cooler weather when you can catch them on slabs again. Right now it seems you just have to be in the right place when they surface which could be anywhere. We have found them from Cates point all the way back to Wolf Island. They don't stay up long and they are not real big.

They haven't been good for some time on RR. Shad populations seem to be down as well.

we have had some luck down from wolf island in the trees about a 1/4 mile to the east to first group of trees in the middle there is a blue rag on the tree and we have been having some luck there in the evenings on spoons. in about 10 to 20 feet of water at the slopes on the hill there (its a shallow point there and they hang from the west of that tree to the east) and work down the hill we have caught some good ones

I got on a school of sandies that was about an acre this morning around 8:00am. They were on the west side of the lake across from pond creek ramp. They stayed up for at least an hour. I left them still busting top with sore arms. Didn't look like there was any shad shortage on that side of the lake. Good luck.

Chris

Hey Chris,

Are you talking about Trinity Bay? I've had good luck finding em there in the spring.

I was just north of trinity bay, infront of that small pocket with the timber. I have not seen them stay up that long maybe ever. The wind was blowing the shad up on a shallow point maybe 10' deep.

Thanks Chris. I've had a hard time finding the sandies for the last couple of years on RR except for in the springtime.

I too have lost the sandies at Roberts witht the exception of the random topwater boil. Caught only a few small ones from cates all the way to wolf. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
