I finally picked up one of those new TFO rods, and compared to some of the other brands I've handled, I really couldn't tell if it was worth purchasing. It felt very light but i was a little unsure with how fast it was. I just want a little feedback from some peeps who have actually used this rod. Thanks.

I began buying the Temple Fork Outfitter rods to replace my aging collection of All Star IM10X rods. I had been looking for a high quality split grip rod in the $100 range. The TFO Gary Loomis rods have great sensitivity, a solid backbone and a fast tip to cover the greatest range of applications.
I stick with the maximum 7' or shorter rod length because that's the longest my lil Rangers rod box will fit. The TFG FWC 706-1 is a really good jig rod. The TFG FWC 705-1 works very well with a finesse jig, T-rig and C-rig. I use the TFG FWC 704-1 for weightless, finesse worms, flukes and large crankbaits. I use the TFG FWS 703-1 for shaky-head and drop-shot. I like the TFG FWC 703-1 for smaller crankbaits such as the Bandit series. I like the TFG FWC 664-1 for my spinnerbaits and topwater lures like the buzzbait, spook or poppers. TFO uses the same blank for both the spinning and bait casting models and they come in either freshwater or saltwater models with color coded handles.
IMO the TFO Signature Series Gary Loomis line of rods are simply the best rod value out there. Gary Loomis and the TFO rod engineers did a great job with these rods.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Are these blank through design? The freshwater rods are blank through design. The saltwater rods are not.

I bought mine from Tri-Lakes too and I love it. They had a good stock last time I was in there.

If you are going to fish more plastics I would go with a MH and adjust your drag accordingly with treble baits. Disclaimer: I have not fished these rods so I don't know the difference in the mh and m....I would give John at crucial tackle a shout he knows them well.

I like the feel of the 7' MH myself but I fish texas rig alot so I like the back bone that the MH gives me.

The TFG FWC 704-1 is the MH rod and is my all around rod. I use it for everything...smaller jigs, T-rig, C-rig, weightless, finesse worms, flukes and crankbaits.
