I have pics of a fish that I caught on Texoma today and have never seen anything like it before. Can someone help me post them so I can know what it is. Brief description...looks a lot like a gizzard shad, it is 15 inches long, and has teeth.

sounds like a grinnel or what we call a bowfin...dorsal runs all the way down the back. and it has wicked gar teeth in a much shorter/wider mouth, and tries to destroy the contents of the boat....
NOTE, just saw the pics, now that theyre up I retract the above and state that "I DON'T KNOW>"

btw, thats a real tiny one...they get big like pike, and really destroy expensive baits...

definately not at grinnel, caught plenty of them in the river at hubbard. not a pike or a pickeral either..I have been serious bass fishing for a long time and this has me stumped... I can usually tell you what any kind of fish is...believe me.

the biggest I have seen would go about 1.5 pounds. They group up in large schools and are probably the best lunker striper bait (6 inch version) in the lake.
