Deep on main lake structure such as points, humps, old road beds, old pond dams, etc. Early morning and late evening are better times to get bit. Fish w/ jigs, texas rigs, carolina rigs, drop shot ( or "Pee Wee Herman rig" as I call it ). Basically anything that will get your bait down deep.

be nocturnal!

Bass fishing is like a 30,000 acre golf course with no flags and five holes you can't see- Tim

new moon early mornings can really pay off because during the new moon there is less moonlight at night (and now they are usually feeding at night) and the bass can't see their food as easily so that first couple hours on a new moon morning is a feeding frenzy!

good electronics are a must, then once you find fish... c-rigged worms , football jigs, drops shots and deep diving cranks

You didn't even mention where you are fishing, so it would be difficult to be specific on what is working, and where.
There are a million variables to catching bass.
Learn the bass habitats.
Learn the lake.
Try different techniques(lures).

Ask the local anglers on your body of water.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

What about fishing in ponds?
The pond I often go to is dark & brown.

There isnt much structure, so I fish where the water is shaded.

I went twice in the last 2 weeks and the only thing I caught was a gar and a small bass that I lost just 3 feet from the bank (its size was no more than 10"). Both were caught on chartreuse-colored baits.

Am I doing right?
Is there something else yall recommend?
