I went last Sunday from 10am to 1pm. Caught 6 lmb in a couple of hours, largest just over 7 lbs. I've got a picture on my phone but don't know how to send it to the forum. Short and fat! Head looked like she would have weighed close to 9, but she was only 20" long. Biggest four weighed about 16 - 17 lbs. Most on 10" red shad power worm in 8' - 12'. Got on some sandies on bandits and boated about 20 in an hour then headed in. Got pretty windy. First time I've been to JP in about 5 years, but don't let anyone tell they're not there. Have to be patient and get away from the skiers. During the hottest time of day I used to catch some nice ones on jigs and big worms, and it looks like not much has changed!

I have been on the lake three times in the last week.I live on it..Just too close..NOT GOOD!!!. I fished half a day and did not catch a fish (FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR) although had two very deep C-Rig bites...We have done well this year although with 3 fish over 8 during the spawn ''the late one'' and a post spawn 10.2, my neighbor's biggest ever,,,, in May. I am not bashing the lake because I fished very hard ALL DAY on Chambers last week with 8 of 10 after 600pm but Pool is tough fishing during the day time in the summer. I do very well at night generally on the full moons.Go Deep Go Green.. Green baits produce better for me there with WaterMellon doing good too. No grass found this year..Good Luck...

Yes, it is a 14-21 slot. You can keep 14" or less and 21" or greater, and you can only keep one fish 21" or greater.

went back out again Sunday the 18th, and had another good 1/2 day. Caught 7 lmb, avg about 3 1/2 each, largest a little over 5. 8' - 10' of water seems to be the best depth right now for me. All caught on 10" red shad worms, except on dink on a spinner bait. Fished daylight to about 1pm. No topwater bite, but we were fishing a worm hole early to look for a big bite. JP can be tough, but they are out there, and there are really nice fish in that lake. Don't give up. If you find a couple there will probably be a good school with them. Be patient and fish slow. The bite was almost undetectable. Very, very, light bite.

gonna try my luck again today for a late bite on the "Pool". I haven't fished the evening bite in 5 or 6 years, but have mapped out what look to be some promising areas. I'll let you guys know.

went "hunting" Sunday for some new spots, so I spent a lot of time looking for new structure, rather than fishing a whole lot. Found a couple of real promising areas for deep water. 18'- 22'. Trying to relearn the lake. Caught 6 LMB, no big ones, 2.5 about largest. Got three "knock it out of the water" bites on Ribbits and Buzzbait right before dark. Topwater rules!
