I have a lowrance 27c and a minn Kota 101 trolling motor. Every time I hit the trolling motor button to troll my graph gets interference like it messes with the sensitivity or somthing. Does anyone know what is causing this or how I can fix the issue? Thanks!

I had that same issue on my MGTE82. It took an internal grounding strap (privided by and payed for by MG) to solve my problem.

So you think the issue is with the motor and not the graph?

If you are not getting interference with the tmotor off then getting it with the tmotor on. I has to be the tmotor causing the problem.

If you have warranty, call MK and get something done. If not contact a good repair shop and ask for help.

99% of time its the trolling motor. there's a lot moving parts and they start to wear out and they began to make noise that the electronics pick up.

On the MG they used a ground wire like mention above to help there problem.

MinnKota are internally grounded. I would check the fuse in head of the trolling motor. What you have is Radio Frequency or Electrical Noise being created. Like Alternators do on a car and coming thru the radio. Sonars are listening devices and the pulse of the Maximizer creates a tune that is similar to water electronics listen too. At 40% it pulses like tens of thousands a time per second. Doesn't matter which brand of TM this can happen to either brand. MinnKota's are easier to kill the noise reception from my experiences with graphs but not familiar with Lowrance's solution. Make sure Transducer Cables are away from TM power cables under deck and above. DO not run down the sheath that hoses the steering and power cables...this is a great place to induce RF Noise into the sonar.

Not sure if Lowrance has noise filters setting in the unit? This will alot of times kill the noise. If not it may require noise reducing ferrite chokes be added to kill the noise being received. Not familiar with Lowrance product maybe Jason knows what Lowrance has done to resolve or settings that can be adjusted to filter RF/Electrical Noise.
