Are you wanting to stay in Texas? If so, Amistad. Personally, I would go to Cabo!

I was thinking Arkansas too,but Lake Catherine is right at the shopping in Hot Springs and has an abundance of hybrid bass.

Lake Catherine is the pits! Go to Ouachita, it is by far the best bass lake around Hot Springs. I have fished all three many times. You could stay in Hot Springs and be at the State Park ramp at Ouachita in 25 minutes. That is on the lower end by the dam. Good striper fishing, really clear water. You can go a few miles up the lake and be in the Brady mountain area, where you can find some pretty good bass water especially early morning. Ouachita has a good early morning top water bite.

Get you one of those trips from Bass Pro to Table Rock, they are on sell for I think 200 bucks for a room with two queen beds, take the boat put it the marina and let them take the truck to town. 3 days 2 nights and I think you can add days for half price if you would like.

Beaver Lake and Eureka Springs is a few miles away with great shopping and restaurants.you would be catching stripers in the lake and then head for the white river in the evening for trout hybrids and kentuckys.
makes a great trip for all involved

Choke Canyon in Three Rivers. San Antonio is not that far. There is also a very nice lodge next to the lake. Choke Canyon Lodge.

If you looking for Big Bass, then the lakes mentioned are not trophy reservoirs. It will depend on time of the year.
Lake of the Ozarks, MO this fall would be nice. It has plenty of shopping option. Those Lake Homes from the St. Louis area have provided some nice malls there at Osage Beach.
Guntersville, AL has Boaz close and more shopping than a gal needs, plus you have one of the premier reservoirs and the State Park is very nice, has it's own golf and ambiance. Or you can stay close at Val Monte's and leave your boat on the pier at night. It is REALLY handy and a great location.
Lanier in the fall is a shakey head situation and puts them at the Gwinnett County Malls outside Atlanta. They would enjoy that of course, the fishing is not the better caliber to those above.
Kentucky Lake is a really nice option. You can put is at the Dam area and then stay in Paducah, KY. The little downtown area is nice and they can hit little niche shops that it offers. It is only about a 20 minute drive down the four lane from either, depending on where you stay. This is a pretty nice one for an option if your traveling.
If your staying in Texas, look at Lake Conroe. Not a bad little reservoir and the shopping is Houston class.
Percy Priest and Nashville are nice options, though the flood this spring has some things knocked out still.
If you can figure out a town which has a nice little late night down town area like Greensboro, Paducah, Richmond and others, though you and the girls will all enjoy the evenings dining offerings.
Think about the shopping, the reservoir and then look to downtown. Give them the experience and you will have your experiences, on the water.
