First off I like to fish Lake Pat Cleburne, mainly because it is close to home and I know there are some descent fish in there.
Now I have been fishing at night because of the heat, but I cant seem to find any of the descent fish. I am using secret seven and danny kings (all 3 falvors). I have been trying 2 foot to 15 foot, on flats , points, off weed beds, creek channels, and in front of the dam. I am using a santee cooper rig and a slip sinker rig.
But all I get are the little tap,tap,tappers. Biggest I have found is 2 lb channel. which would be ok, that is a good skillet size if ya had more than one.
What should I do? I cant find the shad. I stay in one spot for about 30 to 45 minutes then move. What area should I focus on?

just above the dam.put ur sinker below ur hook about 6 to 12 inches .try using a live goldfish.

What do you mean ? by the spillway or any where along the dam ? Are you dropping straight down or casting out ?

casting out. above the spill way.in front of the channel inlet to the spill way off the point where there is a parking lot.its just before the spillway

I gotcha. Have you been doing any good out there ? We have been going a couple of nights a week and all we are finding are the dinks. We have tried in the middle of the slough where the few boat docks are, and on west side flats, golf course slough and out in front of it on the flats, towards the far end of the dam, and on flats in front of weed beds up on the north end close to the channel. Just about covered the whole lake. lol.

lol righton. no luck yet but ive had alot there in the past.i just keep my bait off the bottom abite.it seems to help.the last time i fished the beach with live bait i realed in a snake lol.

Dont want no snakes just catfish. lol. I see you are a neighbor so to speak, Do you just bank fish out there ? I have plenty of room on a pontoon boat. If you wanna go sometime let me know. And thanks for the input , we may try there next time we go.

Found a few descent channels and blues last night on Danny Kings garlic and blood. Most were in 2 to 6 feet of water. found a couple in a channel about 15 feet deep off a break. Didnt just tear em up, but caught enough to fill a couple of frying pans.
