Has anyone fished Amistad lately, would like to catch a mess of stripers and whites. Wondering if the spring up around marker 20 and Zorro Canyon has been producing any action. Any help much appreciated and will post results.

I haven't fished Amistad since February, but we caught stripers under the birds on sassy shad in burro. I know thats not much help, but they were stacked in there then.

Thanks for the reply, we fished the dam last month with top waters, but haven't been back since and I would think they have moved off from there.

I love that lake, it is the most enchanting place I have ever been. I just started fishing it this year. I was actually pre-fishing for a bass tournament and the stripers started surfacing. My partner tried to die, but I made him leave the grass bed we were on and go chase the birds. We both caught 8lb ones on our first cast and ended up catching 12 all 7-9. The stayed up for about 45 minutes. It was a blast.

Sorry for the late reply we caught one striper on the 14th that was 12# he was so big I broke my ankle and haven't been back to work until today. This is not the whole story but we did really catch 1 big striper up around mile marker 23.
