in Oklahoma. Has anyone fished it for smallies and spots and can you give some info on where to start, what to throw at 'em, or any coordinates would be great.

I am going up there Labor Day weekend and hope to catch my first (and 2nd and 3rd....) smallie. I've never been on the water there before.

Look for windy rocky points!

Look for the underwater islands.

Shouldn't be too much trouble to catch spots there. It's loaded with them. Smallmouth are much more difficult. The few good ones I've caught there have come on Spooks early and late down more in the main lake area or using deep cranks along some of the rocky bluffs. That's a great lake to be on. Really beautiful. Might even catch a Walleye if you're lucky. Hope you do well!!

that is one of the most beautiful lake you will ever be on...if its at its clearest (about 12 ft visibility) it'll be kinda tough, but you'll have a blast watching all the little fish chasing your lures and watching fsh swim around......as for spots, i look for steep sloping banks with timber on them. and ive never fished for smallies...i'd like to out there, but i have no idea where to start out there lol....good luck to ya! i'll be goin out there in the next few weeks for a week or so

Think finesse for spots & smallies there. I would use shakey heads and drop-shots. Find the long points and steep banks, if you have good electronics I would idle over looking for large schools of bass before I started fishing. I would also keep a couple of buoys in arms reach for when you hook a fish. If you get the schools started you can load the boat.

This time of year it is double tough. Deep and clear, You may find them schooling but other that that you need to fish around the islands on the east side of the lake, at the end of the sloping points. throw a drop shot with a finesse worm or texas rig a small worm. come back in Nov. or next April or May and you will hammer them. Thanks guys, and it is one of the most beautiful lakes for sure. Have been able to catch a few spots but no luck on the smalls. You were right Jeff, my buddy did catch a Walleye on a carolina rig !

lower main lake points, use small flukes (not super flukes) on split shot, craw colored cranks, zara puppies, drop shot 4" green pumpkin worms and finesse jigs all will catch smallies up there. Great lake, good luck

Go in May and you can catch all species on a carolina rig. Last may we caught 17 walleye one day with 7 keepers. Totaled about 40 all day including spots, Smallies and largemouth. this is a fabulous lake in the spring. Iv'e fished it for 30 years. It's bad tough this time of year. The best bite will be before the sun gets over the trees. Smallmouth bite this time of year is next to impossible. Smallmouth roam too much and you can't pin them down. Lots of spots in the river channel bends(schoolers)from otter creek on up the river. The farther up river you go the more shad you will see. Most fish lately have been about 15-20 ft. You can fish main lake points with timber showing and pitch a drop shot 4 in. worm(green pump.) or drag a tx. rig watermelon candy baby brushhog in deep brush.

VERY VERY TOUGH FISHING AND LAKE IS VERY CROWDED-

I usually fish there in the winter, but the southern most bank near the dam/water outlet is a steep ledge that drops very quickly to 50+ feet depending on where you are positioned. Cool rock formations by the way. I catch both LMBs and SMBs on jigs and finesses in that area in 15 to 30ft. Just fish slowly and you'll get bit. Like someone said earlier, just find rocks and fish'em.

Thats the problem.Years ago broken bow was a lake unspoiled and uncrowded,now its the lake fork of oklahoma.
