I've been pondering the possibilities of how to tote my vise and tools around conveniently. This past Saturday at Cabelas I asked the fellow working in the fly shop what they had. He pointed me over to the gun cases where I picked up one of these: 1404 FOUR PISTOL CASE

The vise, base and bobbin cradle go in one side and in the other are the scissors, pliers, whip finisher, etc. etc. etc.

For $15.00 not a bad deal.

I use something very similar for my reel case on my smaller reels. I need to pick up one of those double cases for my bigger ones.

Nice looking case.

I think dude needs a new job. He should have at least put you into the $40 fly tying bag.

Heh, hope he doesn't get in trouble. But he did sell a reel, line and backing so it was not a complete wash.

It looks like a very useful case, but how do you keep from shoowing up on stream with a box of Glocks or at the range with nothing but tying tools?

One of the things about getting old is it is even easier to get confused.

Dale, that was indeed embarrassing the first time it happened. So I put Hello Kitty stickers on the pistol box and Pokemon stickers on the tying kit. Problem solved!

Must be a family-man kind of thing - knowing the difference betweem a Hello Mon and a Poke-kitty.

Hat tip to you.

On the other hand, it will keep folks off your fishin' spot.

Anyone know where I can get one of those bumper stickers that read "Piercings by Glock" for one of those pistol cases?

I am not sure which would be heavier...a box of Glocks or the tying tools. The pedistal base for the Dyna-King is pretty heavy.

hah! We were Huge on Pokemon waaay back in the late '90's and early 21st. Really big. Big. packs of cards, videos. Hello Kitty was more along the lines of a way to embarrass in the mall "Hey, the Hello Kitty store, let's go in!" Which would be the ultimate in mortification.

As for cats, I have been designated as "the one who fills the bowls" out on the front porch. My wife kicked all cats out of the house a few years ago due to a difference of opinion on what constitutes a litter box.

I have a plastic tool box from Home Lowes with fly shop stickers on it. How do you take materials on the road?
