WOW!!!! dont know what i missed while ive been on this break but geeesh!!! sorry to see this happening to this section...

Look, I know I haven't been around much, but this place is falling apart. Don't make me dish out face-kicks!

Essentially, it's not acceptable here. Lots more posts then usual have been removed from this section lately for just that reason, and the admins have handed out "Vacations" to some members they thought were trolling or insulting or stirring up that sort of Drama.

If it keeps up, that action will ramp up a lot. TFF admins won't tolerate near as much of that sort of stuff as they do on CAG, the "Hatchet" will drop lol.

Anyway, look at it this way. It's the middle of Summer, the hottest time of the year, and people's brains are fried.

Usually the middle of summer and the middle of winter are the biggest drama and problem pits on the forum, and that's the case again this summer.

As Donny said, weather the storm, it will all go away as usual.

Darnit I missed all the drama again. Everytime this forum gets dramatic is when I'm too busy to keep up with it.... oh, well...

It wasn't half as dramatic as it sounds, Dave, you didn't miss that much lol.

Here is the bottom line, we have more people...more people that know what they are doing more people that think they know what they are doing and more people that want to learn and some people that want those others that want to learn to learn to do it a certain way and in the processes tell them the others that think they know what they are doing are doing it wrong and they shouldn't like them...then we have some old school I want everyone to think I am the coolest stuff going on and some other stuff as well...

its carp fishing and talking about carp fishing on the internet, since getting married and getting responsible I don't play an active role like I used to...back in the day it was a bunch of people that didn't have a clue about carp fishing so everything was awesome and new there was only one way to do it and that was the way you learned by fishing with a person in the group whats changed is we have a bunch of season anglers that have formed there own way of doing stuff and its the right way in there mind,,,we have people that just want to catch fish we have others that only want to catch the biggest fish and some that only want to flaunt the fish they catch for strokes...

look at it like a computer, if it locks up you reset it to make it work again...reseting I have found fix's most computer problems...carp fishing isn't that much different...

if you don't like whats happening hit reset and go back to the stuff you liked about the early days...in my mind this group was built on group fish-ins with lame gear and some free t-shirts and a bad joke from another forum member..that and blasting fishing reports across the forum...so if thats what your after hit reset and go do it...

I dont think that where we are is all that bad its just not like it "was" its not like it "was" because we have a TON of people now instead of like 20 weirdo's from dallas,,,we now have weirdos from all over texas and the USA engaged in a sport made for weirdos...

case in point houston is where we were many years ago....the guys down there just want to fish and they are all fishing together....all these new "riffs" are coming from dallas or from transplants....so like I said if you think its locked up hit reset and start doing what you did a couple of years back...lead the way, show the way or stop complaining...me I am not leading or showing like I used to so I am going to be the last one to complain about the way things are now....the way I see it more people then ever care about carp and carp fishing...that was always my goal.

Things here went south when Team Jack@ss disbanded. I rarely come here much anymore, because just as many have already said, it's just not the same place it was a few years ago. The change was not for the better.

I assure you, team j@ck@ss is alive and well.

Then where is all the hilarious posts full of Jack@ssary? Stuff being lit on fire, Starless bear hugging Carp while drunk...

Thats what will bring the section back to it's former glory!

Team j@ck@ss can't disband any more than the LSCB can.

You can't disband something that was never banded (or something like that).

Team J@ck@ss, the SAC, and the AMF are all going well.

not to mention the others:

TGWAN, SDWF, and YAAFM, are all still going strong as far as I know.

Well, there seems to be an almost overall consensus to make it better here, so lets make it happen.

1. I am a newcomer here, so it is really not place to really drive things, but I really think the first positive thing that needs to be accomplished is having fish-ins. This has been discussed in many other threads, and I believe several are in the works.

2. I think it is good that we are making it heard that negativity is not okay. I believe this thread is helping accomplish that, and it is done in a way that is not finger pointing or singleing anyone out.

3. We need to encourage the moderators to take a strong stance against attacks, trolling and other negativity.

4. We need to go drinking together

5. Some may disagree with this, but I think some structured content may help. This content will further expand the very well done help section that is currently available, and help welcome new carpers. We started the Weekly Topics, and I think it is a good step towards that goal. We will need to wait to see if it works, but it seems like it will. I am sure there may be some other things in this area that could be done.

Once again, this I am fairly new here but I felt my NEWBIE PERSPECTIVE might be valuable. Maybe not

Zach - Wow -- I'm impressed -- especially if you were doing it as you thought it up Takes me long enough to write anything - being a one fingered typerist. I imagine your thumbs must be pretty well developed
PS -- A good post saying stuff as you see it, and I like the analogy regarding the computer resetting!!
