what were some of yalls bigger ones? I fished Guererro this spring and its highly overated. I can stay within 2 hrs of home and catch 25-35 keepers in the spring and its a lot cheaper. ive heard Salto has been rockin though

There were 2 clear patterns. Huge numbers of bass came on chrome/blueback rattle traps in 2-6 feet of water. Much bigger but less numbers on giant texas rigged senkos or paca craws on points in 16-20 feet of water with deep dropoff nearby. We caught 5 between 10 and 11 pounds and many in the 5-9 lb range.

There wasn't a crankbait or swimbait bite?

We are planning a trip to El Salto in November.Would like to know the outfitter you used because there is more than one,and if you had a chance to spend any time in Mazatlan and what your impressions were. Thanks

We stayed at the El Salto Lodge. Everything from transport to/from airport, meals, guides, bassboats were excellent.
El Grande
Never threw a crankbait. Only threw a swim bait for a few minutes with some minor results. Surprised me too.

I used Mike at bigbassfishingmexico.com. Although I haven't stayed in MZT, I know he has and he can answer those questions for you.

fyi, the best way to fish the money minnow is to C-rig it using braid and a long fluoro leader. The action is terrific and when he picks it up, there's no weight to tip em off that's it's a muggin'.
