My favorite rod broke 2 weekends ago and I attempted to take it back to Cabela's who I believe have revamped their return policy since the last time I had a broken rod.
Long story short, my $160 dropshot rod was discontinued and they were only willing to give me $50 in store credit.
I decided to call Kistler and see what their warranty policy would cover.
Another long story short...with out having to stay on hold forever and talk to managers or anything else, they prorated my rod and only charged me $50 to upgrade me to a better rod plus $20 shipping. I will be purchasing another Kistler rod in the future.

I have always had great service in dealing with Kistler. I have been dealing with a guy by the name of Billy.

I have always had great service in dealing with Kistler. I have been dealing with a guy by the name of Billy. Billy is Trey's father. The Helium LTA blow-out they have going is incredible. I just put my order in.

I have some z-bone rods from them and should have another dropped in the mail tomorrow. Have been dealing with Lance on specific rods for differant applications and they haven't guided me wrong as of yet. Kudo's to the Kistler crew.

Trey and Billy have been leading the rod industry for years! Billy started Castaway Rods, then Trey started Kistler Rods. Trey has brought many ground breaking rod innovations that many have copied. Think 1st with no fore-grip, then split-grips, and now 1st with Micro guides. Don't let me start on the Z-Bones they are awesome! Not to mention outstanding customer service!

Glad to hear the customer service is good because I have finally given up on these rods. I have not owned a kistler that has not broken. I have three broken ones in my garage right now. I also purchased the limited edition rod at the skeeter owners tournament this year along with my partner. Both of the rods broke the first day of the tournament. We took both broken rods to them and they replaced them for free. My partner was using his on day two and snap...breaks the second one. We carried yet another broken rod to them and simply asked for a refund which we received. Just out of curiosity we watched where they put the broken rod and no supprise to us, but there was a whole pile of broken rods. I am sure kistler is a good company, but after a minimum of five broken rods I give up.
