Taking daughters fishing today on lake Tyler, will not be in a boat but fishing from boat dock, surrounding water depth is about 7-12 ft. Other than just catching perch would like to get them on a bigger fish bite, have caught plenty of bass from the pier, but at different time of year. Lots of hydrilla surrounding the area. Other than another location anyone have any tips on baits? It is just for fun but would love to see them catch some fish. Any tips would be much appreciated!

did you see the size of that chicken!!!!!!

In the hydrilla you might try a worm or creature bait hooked weedless, Texas-rig with a larger weight to force it down through the hydrilla. Early in the morning you might try a top water frog over the top of the hydrilla.

Plus one on the live bait. Have a pole with a bobber, one free wait, and another weighted -- see which one get's bit the most.
