Last nite I went fishing for a while, started off pretty good, then I started running the motor slow, I noticed the motor started missing like I had plugs fowled, I stopped the motor to try to catch some shad, then when I tried to start it back up it wouldn't start, after it set about 30 minutes it started but was missing bad, I putted around a while trying to get the plugs to burn off, it would hit every now and then like it wanted to streighten out, but it didn't ever fire on all cylinders, finally it ran out of gas and just quit, I changed tanks and it never acted like it tried to fire,
This morning I bought new plugs and headed to the lake, I expected everything to be ok, well, it wasn't and I don't think it is firing, is there some way I can find out if the power pac is bad, or does it even have one? It is a 1985 90 HP!!!

First thing i'd do is to hook some ear muff's to it from a water hose and have someone spin the motor for me and check to see if any of the cylinders are fireing at all.

Ok I just went out and took a test light, hooked the clips up to the ground on the batery, unhooked one spark plug wire at a time and inserted the probe of the test light inside the end of the spark plug wire and turned the motor with the key, it did not light up the test light on any cylenders!!!

It is easier to see a spark if you unplug the wire, remove the spark plug and place it in the plugwire. Then just touch the bottom thread of the plug to metal and just watch for spark. While you turn the motor over with the key ! I've had #1,3,5, cylinders not fire before but not all of them. If you get spark move to the next cylinder. Until you know what cylinders aren't firing !
