Depends on a few different things.
1) Personal preference. I like worms. They stay on better. I also think crickets work better when fish are being picky.
2) What type of sunfish? I think Bluegills hit crickets better, but redears hit worms better.
3) Fishing partner - The wife won't bait crickets but she'll break off a piece of worm no problem. (read I usually fish with worms)

I half to agree with Tekell. I also like worms as a personal preference. One thing with a worm other types of fish go for them also. Bass, Cats, and sunfish will take a worm in a minute. Even tho crickets do work well worms seem to do better.Perch bite almost any time of the day. During the early morning hours when it is not so hot and at dusk is a little more comfortable times to fish. Fish around docks or some other type of structure like a bridge, rock bed, or logs. Also look for overhanging trees and try to fish under the branches or shade that the tree provides. These are just a few tips that I have picked up and learned hope this helps a little. Good luck and Good fishing.

Once I find them they will hit either. I prefer worms because they stay on the hook better.

I've never used worms, but i've never had a complaint about crickets, either. Back in May my brother and I were 'gillin at lake Fairfield when I got a bite on a cricket. An honest 10 minutes later I boated a 23" redfish, on 4 lb test line. 'Course, I ate him before I ever got a picture. I do have my brother for a witness, but since he's a fisherman, his integrity is questionable, too. We caught a few 'gills that day, too.

I actually prefer artificials; less bothersome then either crickets or worms. Less effective, often, as well!
